Position Summary

The HSEQ Advisor supports the Site Project Manager and HSEQ Manager to implement and maintain HSEQ procedures and processes on site, while providing training to site project staff to ensure continuing compliance with project HSEQ requirements.

This role is also responsible for maintaining legislative, statutory, Kerman and Client requirements for all HSEQ issues on the project site, in addition to coordinating site inductions and training.

The suitable candidate will have:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • 10+ years’ experience in the Construction industry.
  • Operating experience in mining and/or industrial plants.
  • Experience working on multi-disciplined projects.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Work in conjunction with the Site Project Team and HSEQ Manager-HO to ensure the site HSEQ requirements are established, implemented and maintained in accordance with Kerman HSEQ Project Plan, Client and HSEQ Statutory requirements.
  • Be actively involved with the implementation and maintenance of project HSEQ Management Plans, CRAW Risk Assessments, HSEQ Procedures and Forms through consultation with all site personnel and client.
  • Conduct HSEQ inspections and be actively involved with HSEQ audits. Conduct inspections with Client HSEQ representatives as required.
  • Conduct pre-start and toolbox meeting training and awareness material as required;
  • Formulate safe methods of work in consultation with the Site Supervisors, Site Manager, ClientRepresentative and workforce personnel as required.
  • Review Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) completed by work crews to ensure content is relevant andapplicable, has the appropriate control measures and is understood and signed by the work crew.
  • Monitor inspections and maintenance of plant, equipment and power tools and prevent their useif defective.
  • Perform other duties within the organisation that may be necessary to suit operational requirements.

Key Performance Metrics:

  • Maintain accreditation to AS/NZS 4801:2001 and Federal Safety Accreditation.
  • Ensure Safety Management System is maintained in a manner acceptable to internal andexternal clients and to statutory requirements.
  • Proactively promote a positive safety culture amongst employees and sub-contractors.
  • Continually improve the safety management system while aiming to achieve best practice.
  • Willingness to contribute to the senior management of the division on matters in addition to theprimary role.

  • Experience in the Construction Industry.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • 10+ years’ experience in the Construction industry.
  • Operating experience in mining and/or industrial plants.
  • High Risk Work Licence (Worksafe Certificate) (2008).
  • OHS Construction Induction Card.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft applications.
  • Autocad or familiarity with various drawings software’s would be an advantage.
  • Experience with design software for conveyors, pipe networks, machine elements and similarwould be advantageous.
  • Experience in working with multiple discipline projects.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite.
  • C Class License.
