Sulphur Storage and Handling Facility

Location: Esperance, WA    Client: Esperance Port Sea & Land    Project Value: $18.5M

Sulphur Storage and Handling Facility

Design and construction of the Port’s sulphur import facility which served the BHP Billiton Ravensthorpe Nickel operations. Work included a 120,000 tonne storage building for sulphur prill, product inloading conveyor from the Port’s ship unloader and a sophisticated truck loading system with associated hopper and conveyors.

The project was designed to meet stringent environmental standards as well as catering
for the highly corrosive sulphur product.

On previous projects at Esperance Port Kerman had already designed and constructed four iron ore stockpile buildings, complete with conveyor inloading and outloading systems connected to the Port’s existing infrastructure.
